Set in a Georgian townhouse, the hotel feels more like a private members’ club than a hotel.

The heart of the hotel is the Wallace, which serves as bar, restaurant, and lounge. The leather-walled space is gorgeous, with plush sofas and armchairs upholstered in rich green velvets and tartans (there are five bespoke tartans that were designed exclusively for the hotel by Araminta Campbell), gilt-framed oil paintings, and low lighting.

Dario Orsili’s journey with whisky began behind the bar at age 22 in Rome, where his passion quickly outgrew Italy’s wine-dominated culture. He pursued formal training, earning a Master in Whisky at Whisky & Co. under Pine Perrone, one of Italy’s foremost whisky authorities.
