The Edinburgh Hideaway That Feels Like a Private Members’ Club
Set in a Georgian townhouse, the hotel feels more like a private members’ club than a hotel. In part, that’s due to its size - there are just 29 rooms and suites. In part, it’s due to the fact that it’s a residential hotel: The bar, restaurant, and other facilities are open only to hotel guests. But in large part, it’s due to the graceful attentiveness of the staff. The service is impeccable but not pretentious - everything feels utterly seamless.

As a resident-only hotel with such few rooms, 100 Princes Street feels boutique and the service is personalised. We are always greeted by name, our dietary requirements catered for without us having to ask and nothing is too much trouble.

Dario Orsili’s journey with whisky began behind the bar at age 22 in Rome, where his passion quickly outgrew Italy’s wine-dominated culture. He pursued formal training, earning a Master in Whisky at Whisky & Co. under Pine Perrone, one of Italy’s foremost whisky authorities.
