Highland Outfitters Experience

Led by Nicholas Martin, whose background combines Highland tailoring with an MA in Scottish History, each appointment offers far more than simply commissioning a garment. It is an opportunity to explore Scotland’s rich heritage through tartan, tweed, and traditional dress, creating pieces that become lasting heirlooms.

Whether researching your own family connections, or simply discovering the fascinating history of Scotland’s textiles, every experience is tailored to the individual. A Scottish surname is not required – many clients choose to create designs inspired by landscapes, memories, estates, or places that hold special meaning.

Working exclusively with Scottish mills and artisans, alongside an in-house seamstress, they create handmade kilts, bespoke Highland dress, tailored tweed jackets, and shooting wear, as well as contemporary Scottish tailoring and our own women’s collection. Garments are individually made in Scotland using the finest woven cloth, celebrating traditional techniques while supporting the craftspeople who continue to keep these skills alive.

This is an invaluable opportunity to authentically connect with Scotland whilst taking home something that can be worn, treasured, and passed down from generation to generation.
